Maasai Mara Escapade is a thrilling immersion into Kenya’s most iconic safari destination. 0700 hrs: This morning you will be met at your hotel by our guide who will brief you on the wonderful events ahead. Following the safari briefing depart for Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch at your camp. In the afternoon you will have a game viewing drive before later being transferred back to your camp for dinner and overnight. Masai Mara is a classic savannah – grasslands, where animals are plentiful and the vistas spectacular. In this dreamlike land, animals live in freedom, and the Masai tend their cattle, all sharing the same land with minimal conflict. The reserve is inhabited by many of Africa’s most popular wild animals, including lion, cheetah, elephant, leopard, black rhino and hippo. There are also over 500 resident species of birds in the park including ostrich, larks and sunbirds as well as the lovely Lilac-breasted Roller. Spend the day on safari in the richest wildlife viewing arena. Historically teeming with wildlife, the Mara hosts Kenya’s largest lion prides and elephant herds. Other predators include leopard, cheetah and spotted hyena; while in the Mara River you will see fat pods of hippo and vast Nile crocodiles. Other highlights include giraffe tops, gazelle, zebra, buffalo and over 550 species of birds. Spend the evening in camp where colourful Masai dance and cultural performances are offered nightly. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.
